Sex offender to be released
Friday, January 27, 2012
A high risk sex offender will be released from the Headingley Correctional Centre tomorrow. He is expected to take up residence in Winnipeg. The Manitoba Integrated High Risk Offender Unit, a joint forces unit of the Winnipeg Police Service and the RCMP have provided information on 65 year old Douglas Murray Shelvey. He is an offender convicted of Criminal Harassment, Voyeurism and Producing Child Pornography. He is considered at risk to become involved in further offences.
Although Shelvey participated in some sex offender treatment programming while in prison, he is still considered at risk to re-offend. Female children are at risk.
