102 unit apt building for downtown Winnipeg

The province is partnering with the University of Winnipeg to construct a new apartment building in downtown Winnipeg.

The 102 unit complex will be 14 storeys tall and is to be built near the intersection of Portage Avenue and Memorial, in a space roughly across from The Bay’s downtown store.

The building will feature a mix of premium properties and affordable rents, including 32 units that will be offered on a rent-geared-to-income basis.

Construction on the $27-million building won’t start until next spring.  It’s expected to be done by the fall of 2015.
