Many people don’t know that they have kidney disease until the kidneys are really sick and they end up needing dialysis to stay alive.
Get tested and catch kidney disease early, treatment is available.
Over the next two years testing for Kidney disease will be happening in the Island Lake and West Region Tribal Council areas for anyone 10 years of age and over. Testing starts this March (2013.)
Testing only takes about 30 minutes. Look for posters in your community to find out when and where to meet the kidney screening team or visit www.diabetesintegrationproject.ca. Checking your kidneys could save your life. Funding for this initiative is provided by Health Canada.
Testing takes place at Red Sucker Lake First Nation. For details call 1-855-333-9320.
