Flin Flon gets new EMS

A new state-of-the-art emergency medical services station officially opened in Flin Flon today.

In a release Premier Greg Selinger says the 1-point-2 million dollar EMS will improve response times and better meet the needs of the paramedic staff housed there.

The 2,700-square-foot building features a geothermal heating, ventilation and cooling system. The release says planning has also begun to expand and redevelop the Flin Flon General Hospital’s emergency room and admitting area.

The premier noted this multi-million-dollar project will help the region recruit and retain more high-quality care providers to the community.
