Major snowfall expected for south Manitoba

Areas of the south central and south east of the province are bracing for a huge dump of snow.

Environment Canada says a system is working its way up from Minnesota and will mean 10 to 25 centimeters of snow for all points east of Portage la Prairie, including the City of Winnipeg.

About half of the snow will hit today, the other half will arrive early Thursday.

The system will leave sometime tomorrow, with conditions gradually improving though temperatures could start to cool once the snow stops falling.
