Portage grocery store robbers sought by police

Portage la Prairie Mounties are hoping someone can help them find a couple of suspects who tried to hold up a grocery store with a knife.

Police say the men were wearing balaclavas when they burst into Mike’s 5th Avenue Grocery Store about 9:30 Wednesday night.

The robbers took off before they got hold of either cash or merchandise.  Police say that nobody was injured.

One suspect is said to have been wearing a white jacket and spoke with an English accent.  The other wore a red and black checkered jacket and gloves.  Both men are said to be about 5’7” tall with a medium build.

Police have released an image of the suspects taken from security cameras.
