Tim Burke released, Bombers seek new coach for 2014

The revolving door into the office of the head coach of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers just keeps spinning.

Newly minted CEO and President Wade Miller told Tim Burke that his services were no longer required as the club wants a new man at the helm for 2014.

Burke began coaching the Blue Bombers when he took over from Paul LaPolice midway through the 2012 season.  He served as the interim coach for the last 10 games that year before being named the full-time head coach just one year ago.

In all, Burke amassed a record of seven wins and 21 losses while coaching the Blue Bombers.  That includes the CFL’s worst record of 3-15 for the 2013 season.

There is no word of an immediate replacement for Burke.  Miller says that it will be the job of the yet-to-be-appointed General Manager to find the team a new coach.

Whomever that person is, he will be the seventh to hold the title of Blue Bombers head coach since the 2004 season.
