Two Drug Busts for Winnipeg Police

Police in Winnipeg served up a pair of drug warrants on Wednesday, arresting three suspects and bringing in evidence valued at nearly $38,0000.

The first warrant brought police to a home in the Elmwood area about 9:15 yesterday morning where they found 15 marijuana plants seized and 200 grams of dried pot.

The estimated value of everything seized from the home in the first block of Carmen Avenue us a little more than $24,000 and includes not only the drugs, but also grow equipment and cash.

Arrested and charged with drug possession and trafficking were a 47 year old woman and a 48 year old man.  Both have been released on a promise to appear.

The second bust happened about 12 hours later when a 46 year old man was arrested on charges of trafficking pills and possessing dangerous weapons..

He was found in a residence in the 500 block of Jefferson, where police say they also found various Oxycontin pills, 10 grams of marijuana and more than $1700 in cash.  They also found a butterfly knife and some bear spray.,

The suspect faces a combined five charges and was also released on a promise to appear.
