Manitoba’s two largest highways are shut down this morning because blowing snow has cut visibility to nearly nothing.
The entire stretch of Highway 75 from Winnipeg all the way south to the U.S. border was closed down shortly after two this morning.
Also closed is the majority of the Trans Canada Highway. Barricades are up along the eastern portion of the Number One between Hadishville and city of Winnipeg and then in the west between Headingly and Brandon.
The road west of Brandon is open, with icy sections towards Griswold and then bare and dry continuing west to the Saskatchewan border.
Portions of Highway 5, 16 and 19 are also closed because of blowing snow this morning, so be sure to check road conditions before travelling in much of southern Manitoba.
