Drone Delivers Organ for Transplant
A kidney scheduled for transplant was delivered by a drone for the first time ever.
Drones have been used for capturing live events, shooting movies and commercials, delivering pizza and stuff you’ve bought online. They’ve even been tested in the past to deliver medical supplies, but this is the first time it was used to deliver an organ needed for a transplant.
Doctors say using drones would expedite the delivery of organs that don’t last very long outside the human body, and could make organ delivery safer and more affordable.
