Hip Hop fuses with Country and it’s so catchy
Its one of the best mixes since that one time Kid rock mixed rap with metal.
Lil Nas X, a young American rapper gained viral popularity after posting the hit tune “old town road” to the Sound cloud; a popular music sharing program.
December 3rd the song is released:
- Debuts on the Billboard Hot 100, at #83 which is now the #1 for 9 weeks running.
- Debuts on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at #36, which is now the #1 for 9 weeks running.
- It debuted also on the Hot Country Songs at #19, which was later removed, upsetting fans and prompting the company to release a statement as to why the move was made.”Upon further review, it was determined that “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X does not currently merit inclusion on Billboard‘s country charts. When determining genres, a few factors are examined, but first and foremost is a musical composition. While “Old Town Road” incorporates references to country and cowboy imagery, it does not embrace enough elements of today’s country music to chart in its current version.”- The statement was made to the Rolling Stone Magazine.
April 4 the song is re-released featuring a verse from Billy Ray Cyrus:
“Please stop taking your horses down to our Old Town Road”
Of course, I had to go searching on maps, and videos of this place with absolutely no findings; It is only when i visited the Facebook post’s comment section that I found out its satire.
