Magen Spence Update – FOUND

Since early this morning, a search has been underway in Nelson House for Magen Spence.

Police were called at 1:20 A.M. after Spence left a residence without proper winter attire.

A large-scale search has been ongoing since her disappearance.  So far, the combined foot, vehicle and snowmobile patrols haven’t turned up any information.

Spence, who is 26, is Indigenous, about 5’4″ and weights a little over 200 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a red, black and white sweater.  When she left the home where she was last seen, she was not wearing boots or a jacket.

Like all other parts of the province, Nelson House is experiencing very cold temperatures.  At 1 A.M. when she disappeared, the temperature in the area was -40 C with wind chills around -45 C.  Since then, it has only got colder.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Magen Spence should call Nelson House RCMP (204-484-2837) or Crime Stoppers (800-222-8477), or submit a secure tip online.

 

UPDATE: Early in the afternoon of the day she went missing, RCMP say that Magen Spence was safely located within the community.
