Manitoba Reading Association hosts 6th Adolescent Literacy Summit
The 6th Adolescent Literacy Summit is happening on April 16th and 17th at the Victoria Inn, located at 1808 Willington Avenue in Winnipeg. It’s bringing together educators, authors, and literacy advocates for two days of conversation, learning, and inspiration.
This year’s theme, Building Bridges, is all about making connections, between cultures, teaching styles, and different ways of engaging students. Some big names will be taking the stage, including Beatrice Mosionier, author of In Search of April Raintree, award-winning writer David A. Robertson, Trisha Ebarvia, co-founder of Disrupt Texts; and community advocate Michael Redhead Champagne.
The event, organized by Lisa Carlson, Jon Sorokowski, and the Manitoba Reading Association, will also feature workshops, panel discussions, and breakout sessions.
If you’re interested, registration is open until April 7th, and there are discounts for members of local reading councils. More details, including pricing and schedules, are on the Manitoba Reading Association’s website.
