Stuff the Ballot Box for Patrik Laine
Calling all Winnipeg Jets fans – Patrik Laine needs your votes to play in the All-Star game.
Laine is up for a spot as part of the Last Men In program – a chance for hockey fans to fill the last roster spot for each divisional team going to San Jose for the January 26 game.
Captain Blake Wheeler and forward Mark Scheifele have already been selected to lace up the skates as part of the Central Division team.
For Laine to join them, he’ll have to get move votes than any other player in the Central Division between now and the end of next Thursday.
The other names on the ballot read like a who’s who of hockey talent in the Central:
- Chicago Blackhawks: Jonathan Toews (F)
- Colorado Avalanche: Gabriel Landeskog (F)
- Dallas Stars: Tyler Seguin (F)
- Minnesota Wild: Zach Parise (F)
- Nashville Predators: Filip Forsberg (F)
- St. Louis Blues: Vladimir Tarasenko (F)
Vote Early, Vote Often
The NHL is permitting fans 10 ballots per day, so head over to NHL.com/Vote to cast your vote. There is also an interactive ballot on the NHL app.
You can vote for as few as one player (again, his name is Patrik Laine) and up to four as selections can be made for favourite players in other divisions.
Voting requires an account at NHL.com, or by signing in through Google or Facebook.
(Keep in mind that while you may be only able to vote 10 times per day, your dog, cat or individual chairs at your kitchen table may also have accounts that could start stuffing that ballot box…)
